Dracut
Dracut was originally colonized under the protection of Chelmsford, directly across the Merrimack River. It broke off in 1701, after residents decided that protection would be better under home rule. Its location on the river attracted paper and cotton mills during industrialization, which helped swell its population along with those of nearby towns. Modern Dracut has seen a lot of new construction, thanks in part to the town’s status as a suburb of Lowell. In fact, Lowell annexed sections of Dracut twice in the 1800s. Residents of Dracut can enjoy a 15-minute commute into central Lowell, or a 30-mile commute into either Boston or Manchester, N.H. Dracut’s legal needs are met by the Lowell District Court, just over the river at 41 Hurd Street, and the neighboring Middlesex Superior Court.
Citizens of Dracut who are accused of a crime should call criminal defense attorney Stephen Neyman as soon as possible. The Law Office of Stephen Neyman has appeared many times in the Lowell District Court on behalf of people from the region, successfully defending a wide variety of charges. These include everything from serious, violent crimes like homicide, kidnapping, battery and rape to traffic violations, intoxicated driving/OUI, drug possession, drug sales, and a variety of theft and fraud crimes. We have also appeared many times to handle matters directly related to criminal charges, including bail hearings, restraining order matters and probation violations. These may not technically be crimes, but they can carry many of the same penalties and require a strong defense.
For more than 20 years, attorney Stephen Neyman has helped people from eastern Massachusetts handle the life-changing and sometimes frightening consequences of criminal charges. If you’re charged with a crime for the first time, you may be feeling understandably anxious about the penalties you face and how best to defend yourself. Prosecutors and law enforcement officers understand the justice system, but individuals with no previous criminal record typically don’t know how to protect themselves from overreaching or mistakes. That’s why you should talk to the Law Offices of Stephen Neyman as soon as you know you will face charges. The sooner we are able to step in, the sooner we can start protecting your legal rights and building your defense. We can also explain the charges you face and their most likely outcomes.
